Adjusting Your Sails
Updated: Jan 5, 2023
“When you can’t change the direction of the wind, adjust your sails.” (H. Jackson Brown, Jr.)
As I was finishing the seventh volume of “A Trumpet In The Time Of Trouble”, which is my thirteenth book, I felt impressed to embark upon a different path. Putting aside the writing, I started this blog, wherein I could share things that the Lord is showing me.
Well, things took a turn after a short while.
I’m still continuing the blog, submitting posts that I want to be used for teaching, as well as the podcasts of the messages that I bring forth; but, my days of authoring actually haven’t come to an end after all.
The point that I’m making here is that the Lord can turn our thoughts and plans in a heartbeat. And the biggest mistake that we make is to stay our course when He’s decided that we need to be going in a different direction.
There are so many times that we tend to think that WE know what’s best for us; and though we may assent to God’s way being the best, still, we find more comfort in being the one in charge. In response, He just simply allows us to take the reigns for a little while, until we come to the place where we finally realize that we CAN’T do what we thought we could.
One of the most ridiculous bumper stickers that ever came out, and that so many people had on their cars, was the one that said, “God is my co-pilot”. There should be only one place that God has in our lives, and that should be as our Pilot.
We need to be ready to allow the Lord to direct us, and to be ready to make whatever changes He requires of us.
We need to always be ready to adjust our sails.
